Nestled among rolling hills and pristine horse pastures, Ashbourne Farms isn’t just a wedding venue — it’s a working horse farm estate that brings together Kentucky heritage, refined luxury, and incredible hospitality. As a wedding photographer, venues like this are an absolute dream to work at.
I had the opportunity to photograph a wedding here while second shooting for Katherine Evans of Katherine Beth Photography, and even with a moody, overcast October sky, the beauty of this property absolutely stole the show.
And honestly? Some venues look good online… but Ashbourne Farms is one of those rare places that somehow looks even better in person.

The property spans thousands of acres of rolling countryside, historic farm architecture, and impeccably maintained grounds. Everywhere you turn, there’s another backdrop that feels like it belongs in an editorial spread.

Even with gray October skies, the property still felt bright, romantic, and cinematic — which says a lot about how thoughtfully the grounds are maintained.

The venue offers two beautifully decorated houses on the property that serve as preparation spaces for each side of the wedding party. Instead of cramped hotel rooms or cluttered prep areas, couples get full homes designed with weddings in mind.

From a wedding perspective, this is huge. Great food elevates the entire guest experience, and Ashbourne Farms delivers on that in a big way. This, coming from me, a life-long picky eater, is HUGE.
