Some couples are worth the drive — and Peyton and Phil were absolutely worth every mile. Their wedding at Sunset Ridge Farm meant a three-and-a-half-hour drive each way for me, but I didn’t think twice. Getting to work with them again after their engagement session was already a dream… and this venue? Truly out of this world.

Nestled near the Red River Gorge, Sunset Ridge Farm feels like something straight out of a storybook. An open-air chapel tucked into the woods. Rolling fields. Endless views. Nature doing what it does best. Peyton and Phil chose to get married the first weekend of November, and I’ll be honest — I had zero expectations of wildflowers still being in bloom.

But the wedding gods said, “Surprise.”
We were gifted the most unseasonably warm fall day, and somehow… a field of wildflowers still standing strong. Seeing delicate blooms scattered through the field with peak fall foliage glowing behind them was unreal. It felt like two seasons colliding in the most beautiful way — soft, colorful, and wildly romantic. It made for the most stunning, unexpected backdrop for their photos.

From the moment Peyton and Phil saw each other, that same electric love and chemistry from their engagement session filled the air again. Nothing forced. Nothing performative. Just deep connection, comfort, and joy. Every glance, every laugh, every quiet moment felt genuine — the kind of love that doesn’t need direction.

Golden hour absolutely showed off. The warm tones of the sunset, the richness of the fall colors, and those surprise pops of wildflowers came together in the most magical way. Their portraits during that time were to die for — glowing, emotional, and timeless in the best possible sense.

Peyton and Phil’s wedding day was a perfect reflection of who they are: grounded, wildly in love, and surrounded by nature and people who mean everything to them. It was an honor to document their day, and one I’ll never forget — from the long drive, to the wildflowers that defied the season, to a couple whose love just keeps getting better every time I photograph them.

If you’re dreaming of a wedding near the Red River Gorge with scenery that feels untouched, emotional, and breathtaking… Sunset Ridge Farm might just steal your heart the way it did mine 🤍
