So let’s set the scene.
A last-minute inquiry.
The day before New Year’s Eve.
A family farm… in the middle of nowhere.
No prior meeting. No prior session. Just vibes.

As I pulled up to what can only be described as an abandoned property straight out of a Dateline episode, every true crime podcast I’ve ever listened to started screaming in my head. But… YOLO. 😂 Camera in hand, I bravely walked right into a session that could have been the end for me. Hahaha.

Spoiler alert: I survived. And this engagement session ended up being one of my absolute favorites of all time.

From the moment Peyton and Phil stepped in front of my camera, I knew this session was different. Their chemistry? Thick. Like you could feel it in the air. They weren’t trying to perform, pose, or “act romantic” — they just were. The way they looked at each other, moved together, laughed, touched… it was effortless and magnetic.

I guide all of my sessions with prompts (because nobody should ever be left wondering what to do with their hands), but Peyton and Phil took it to another level. They melted into each other naturally, and I found myself barely needing to step in at all. Watching their connection unfold through my lens was something I hadn’t experienced like that before — raw, confident, playful, and deeply in love.

By the time the session wrapped, I remember thinking, please let me photograph their wedding someday.

So when they asked me to do exactly that? Over the moon doesn’t even cover it. I was beyond excited — not just to work with them again, but to document such a huge chapter in their story. Engagement sessions are special, but getting to continue that journey into a wedding day is next-level magic.

What started as a mildly concerning drive into the middle of nowhere turned into a session I’ll never forget — and a couple I’ll always be grateful found their way into my life (and safely did not murder me, which feels important to mention).

If this session is any indication… yeah. Their wedding was just as incredible 🤍
